Summary--It is the summer of 1939, and Jick McCaskill is about to discover his connection to the land, history, and to family--to discover in fact, who he is. Living with his mother, a strong woman with a peppery wit, and his father, a hardworking forest ranger, Jick anticipates the usual pleasure of summer, until his brother, declaring that he will forgo college for a local beauty and the life of a cowhand, causes a painful rift in the family.

Con's--This book had a lot of language and also a decent amount of off color comments.

Pro's--This book was well written and taught a lot of Montana history and culture.

I wouldn't recommend this book. There was too much language and off color commenting.
Age 20 and up. Two Stars.
